Deborah E. Cotner, LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor
Deborah has always been fascinated by the human brain, but ultimately decided to pursue therapy rather than research. In 2010 she moved to Portland and attended George Fox University, earning a master’s degree in Marriage, Couple, and Family therapy.
She interned at DePaul treatment center in the family therapy department where she worked with adults and their families dealing with substance abuse. Deborah saw the impact that substance use had not only on the individual, but the family system as well. The experience reiterated her passion for family work.
Upon graduation, she worked with Youth Contact, a non-profit agency, working with youth and their families in school settings where she remained for five years prior to joining Mind Matters in the fall of 2018.
Deborah enjoys being active with her husband and three young children, taking spontaneous trips to Central Oregon and the beautiful Oregon Coast.
