Juvenal T. George, Psy.D.
Dr. Juvenal George is a native of the Midwest, born and raised in Chicago Illinois. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from North Park University before receiving his Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. He went on to earn his Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology from The Adler school of Professional Psychology (known today as Adler University) in Chicago.
During graduate school, Dr. George helped develop the Latinx student association aimed at mentoring students, promoting mental health awareness and the Latino culture to young professionals in training. He moved to Portland, Oregon where he completed his predoctoral internship and postdoctoral residency from Morrison Children and Family Services, Gresham Outpatient.
His professional experience includes working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families in a variety of settings including correctional, school, medical, and community mental health. Dr. George is fluent in Spanish, working from a multicultural and client-centered approach using cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness techniques to address issues related to ADHD, anxiety, depression, and trauma. He has provided numerous parent training classes based on The Incredible Years program as well as from the Systematic Training for Effective Parenting (STEP) curriculum.
Dr. George’s interests include growing bonsai trees, listening to music, playing soccer and basketball, hiking, reading books, rock balancing, comedy, and spending time with family.
