Dr. Charles Zimmerman is a licensed psychologist in the state of Oregon.  Originally from the midwest, he graduated from San Francisco State University with a bachelor's degree in sociology before moving to Portland, Oregon.  In Portland, he worked in a variety of mental health and social work settings. He earned a master’s degree in counseling psychology and a doctoral degree in clinical psychology, both at Pacific University.  Dr. Zimmerman’s doctoral dissertation focused on factors impacting the mental health of multiracial people, and he completed his predoctoral internship at the University of Idaho Counseling and Testing Center. 

 

Dr. Zimmerman enjoys providing talk therapy services to a diverse population of older adolescent (16+) and adult patients. He utilizes an eclectic approach to treatment that is relationally focused, culturally responsive, and grounded in a Cognitive Behavioral foundation.  He has experience treating patients with anxiety, depression, life transitions, and has sought out training/supervision focused on topics such as: working cross-culturally, therapy with LGBTQ+ populations, and providing treatment to individuals with ADHD.    

 

In his free time, Dr. Zimmerman enjoys hiking, running, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.  He has a love of science fiction, campy movies, cats, and coffee.
