Daniel W. Dick, MD

Physician, Adult Psychiatry

Hillsboro Clinic

Dr. Daniel Dick, a double board certified physician in both general and forensic psychiatry, earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies from Ohio's Oberlin College in 1992.

His decision to study medicine took him to Virginia Commonwealth University however, where he earned a perfect grade point average in his Biology, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Physics coursework in 1996.

Dr. Dick went on to attend the University of South Carolina's School of Medicine, becoming a member of the school's Saunders Humanism Honor Society, as well as the proud recipient of the Arnold P. Gold Foundation's 2005 Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award.

Upon receipt of his medical degree, Dr. Dick extended his time at the university in order to complete an internship with the Department of Neuropsychiatry.  His passion for the study of psychiatry took Dr. Dick to Portland, Oregon, where he enrolled in the residency program at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU).

While working to complete the program at OHSU, Dr. Dick also sought out educational opportunities at the Oregon Psychoanalytic Institute, where he served on the Retreat Planning Committee. Dr. Dick simultaneously served as Resident Representative on the Oregon Psychological Association's Executive Council.

Upon completion of his residency program at OHSU, during which he was introduced to the Forensic Evaluation Services department at the Oregon State Hospital, Dr. Dick then completed a fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry.

Dr. Dick continued to work at the state hospital as a forensic evaluator, unit physician, and chair of the Hospital Ethics Committee upon completion of his fellowship program. He remained at OHSU as an assistant professor to the Department of Public Psychiatry & Forensic Psychiatry, where he served as resident supervisor, forensic lecturer, mock board examiner and resident retreat faculty representative.

Dr. Dick is an active member of the American Psychiatric Association, the Oregon Medical Association, the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law, and the Oregon Psychiatric Physicians Association. When not at the office, Dr. Dick enjoys bicycling, playing the guitar, and spending time outdoors with his family and friends.
