Dr. Minal Patel received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Maharaja Sayajirao University in Vadodara, India, where she lived with her family after leaving their home in Kenya, Africa.  During her time in India, Dr. Patel worked at the Disha autism center, as well as a variety of inpatient and outpatient mental health facilities while completing her graduate training. Upon completion of her Master's program, Dr. Patel interned with the Department of Psychology at VIMHANS Hospital in New Delhi, as well as the Bal Bhavan Orphanage in Greater Noida.

In 2007, Dr. Patel settled in Portland, OR, where she began pursuing a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at Pacific University.  She went on to complete a pre-doctoral internship at the University of California, Merced, in their college counseling center.

Upon returning to Oregon, Dr. Patel worked primarily at Morrison Child & Family Services' outpatient location as a post-doctoral resident prior to her brief return to college counseling work at Lewis & Clark College in SW Portland.  

In addition to English, Dr. Patel is fluent in Hindi and Gujarati (Indian regional languages) and enjoys working with a diverse demographic of patients. Dr. Patel is excited to have joined the Mind Matters, P.C. team.
