Marilyn J. Stephens, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

West Linn

Marilyn has worked in multiple clinical settings located in the San Francisco Bay Area, Hawaii and Oregon. Marilyn furthered her education as a psychotherapist and case manager in private and public agencies, hospitals and private clinics. 

She began her education at San Francisco State University, before enrolling in a Humanistic Psychology Program at Sonoma State University, California where she earned a bachelor’s degree. Marilyn continued her education at the University of Hawaii, completing a master’s in social work with a concentration in child and family.

Marilyn advanced her clinical training and employment in community mental health with adults and their families and through providing therapy for adolescent and children who required Individualized Educational Plans and other school-based services. Marilyn continued her rewarding career as a director in a psychiatric hospital, helping adults and adolescent patients. Marilyn also expanded her expertise working with adults with chronic health conditions and parents in need of help with children who are challenged by disability. Marilyn focused much of her clinical training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness practice with an expertise in mood disorders including managing Bipolar Disorder and addiction. 

Marilyn became a member of the Mind Matters P.C. clinical team in April of 2020 and has recently advanced her training in helping all ages manage losses and life transitions including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. 

Marilyn enjoys hiking, photography, meditation and music and is a proud grandmother.
